MORRISTOWN – Walters State is now taking applications for the first class of its Occupational Therapy Assistant Program. Applications are open until May 31. Occupational therapy assistants help patients develop, recover and improve skills needed for daily living and working. They work under the supervision of occupational therapists. Most are involved in direct patient care. Students considering nursing, physical therapist assistant and other health care programs should also consider occupational therapy. To apply, students are required to complete Human Anatomy and Physiology I and II and accompanying lab courses. Students must also complete a minimum of 30 observation hours divided between two or more settings. To apply, visit www.ws.edu/academics/health/occupational-therapy-assistant/.
