BLAINE – Corryton native Amanda Blevins, F.N.P., has joined Cumberland Gap Medical. Blevins graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and minor in business administration. After graduation, she spent a year working in healthcare reviewing charts for Medicare placement into a skilled nursing facility. She then went to work in business for the next eight years. She returned to school and earned a second bachelor’s degree in nursing from Lincoln Memorial University in 2012, and spent three and a half years as a staff nurse at UT Medical Center, furthering her knowledge of patient care, specifically with orthopedic trauma and medical surgical patients. Blevins was awarded a Guardian Angel for outstanding patient care in December 2014. She began her master’s program at King University in 2014 and graduated in the spring of 2016 with a Master of Science in nursing, with a family nurse practitioner concentration. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the honor society of nursing, and is board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. In her spare time, Blevins said she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, going to the lake, traveling and being active in their church. She said she is very excited about the opportunity to provide primary care to the residents of Grainger and surrounding counties.
