Knoxville – The Tennessee Valley Fair has updated its bag policies to increase safety at the fair.
The updated policy will be effective from Friday, Sept. 8 until Sunday, Sept. 17.
Attendees should note all bags will be checked by security upon entry, regardless of shape, size or necessity. All attendees are subject to screening via metal detectors. All approved bags are subject to search and will be tagged to indicate they have been approved by Knoxville Police Department (KPD).
Prohibited items are: Backpacks, printed pattern plastic bags, cross-body bags, fanny packs; purses, coolers, reusable grocery totes, mesh bags / cinch bags, duffel bags, large tote bags, beverage containers, camera cases, brief cases and any bags deemed unsafe by the KPD.
