HILTONS, VIRGINIA – The second annual Crooked River Half Marathon will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, October 15 at The Lodge at Crooked River, 110 Crooked River Drive, Hiltons, Virginia 24258. The Lodge is situated between the North Fork of the Holston River and Clinch Mountain. The race will take place on a United States of America Track and Field (USATF) certified course. Participants will ride a scenic 13.1 miles out and back on the paved roads along the North Fork of the Holston River. The course will close after 3 hours and 15 minutes.
Registration will begin Sunday, October 15 at 2 p.m. at The Lodge at Crooked River. A post-race celebration will be held at the lodge for awards and prizes.
A taco bar will be catered by Barberitos Southwestern Grille & Cantina of Kingsport. Male and female awards will be presented for the top overall, top masters (40+), top grandmasters (50+), top senior grandmasters (60+) and the top 3 in 5-year age group categories. All participants will receive a first-quality long sleeve commemorative shirt. The race shirt design was selected to receive the 2016 Shirt of the Year Award by members of the State of Franklin Track Club.

Runners completing all eight races in the 2017 Skelton Law Racing Challenge will enjoy a private twilight barge ride and dinner during October at Bays Mountain Park. Runners will also receive awards and commemorative hooded sweatshirts.
The second annual Crooked River Half Marathon is part of the 2017 Skelton Law Racing Series, presented by Attorney Mark A. Skelton.
It is included in the State of Franklin Track Club King and Queen Competition and Long Distance Series.
