KNOXVILLE – Grainger High School’s JROTC team swept all but one category in competition against three other schools at South-Doyle High School, Thursday. Also competing were South-Doyle, Knoxville Gibbs and Jefferson County.

Col. William Lynn said the team took first place in rifle marksmanship, color guard, basic team drill, advanced team in team exhibition drill and Corby Swartout in individual exhibition drill.

He said the Raider team placed third in its competition. He said that unit is very young, and he expects them to be improved by the end of the season.

“We have a very great group of young men and women. We are very proud of them,” he said.
