WASHBURN – A Washburn man is facing a felony theft charge, among others, in connection with the burglary and theft of multiple items from a storage building in the Black Fox community.
James Williams, 30, is facing charges of felony theft of property over $250,000, vandalism and burglary.
The theft was reported to the Grainger County Sheriff’s Department by the victim September 30. According to reports, items stolen included four wheelers, a skid-steer loader, camper, toy hauler, ladders, chandeliers, chainsaws, stoves, a safe and personal heirlooms. Detective Josh Pettiecord followed up on leads, along with other GCSD detectives and deputies, and the recovery of several items was accomplished.
The skid-steer loader, camper, a four wheeler, generator, pool table and a stove were recovered in Claiborne, Union, Knox and Grainger Counties.
According to authorities, additional individuals face charges in connection with the thefts. Their names are not being released due to the on-going investigation.
