JERRY LYNN KIRBY, 65, Strawberry Plains, passed away Wednesday, October 11. He was a member of Stoney Point Baptist Church. He was retired from the Kroger Co. after 45 years of service, and was an avid farmer. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arthur and Addie Stallings and Oscar and Iva Kirby; parents, Clay and Reba Lee Kirby; brother, Gary Kirby; brother-in-law and friend, Larry Spires; and cousin, Arnold Cate. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Kay Kirby; daughter, Joy (Shane) Gregg; son, Adam Kirby; grandchildren, Zavin (Brittany) Gregg and Zachary Erbaugh; brother, Clay (Joyce) Kirby; sisters, Carolyn Spires and Cheryl (Fred) Williams; sister/cousin, Shirley (Raymond) Underwood; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and several nieces, nephews and close friends. Funeral services were held 7 p.m. Sunday, October 15 at Bridges Funeral Home, with Rev. Wesley Pursiful and Rev. Randy Troutman officiating. Family and friends met Monday at Trentville Cemetery for interment. Pallbearers: Jacob Stinnett, Jeremiah Woods, Courtney Spires, Ken Slaven, Cory Brooks and Trevor Cloninger. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Stoney Point Baptist Church Building Fund or the Youth Fund, 1980 Stoney Point Road, Knoxville, TN 37914.
