Wanda Marie York Toler, 59, Bean Station, formerly of Lenore, West Virginia, passed away after a brief battle with cancer, Saturday, October 21, surrounded by family and loved ones. She was a proud and faithful member of Bean Station Church of God. Everyone who knew her, knew her as a kind woman with a generous spirit. She never met a stranger and her door was always open. She was employed by Mingo County Board of Education before retiring to Tennessee. She was born October 14, 1958 to the late Quinn and Gladys Deskins. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Eddie York and Teddy Toler; brother, Quinn Deskins Jr.; and two infant siblings. She is survived by her siblings, Ethel Blevins, Mary Leide, Tee Deskins, Midge Arends, Russell Deskins and Irene Mitura. She is also survived by her children: Tabby (Joey) Tackett of Chattaroy, West Virginia, John York of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Justin (Brenda) McCloud of Flowery Branch, Georgia and Rev. Ed (Kristin) York of Bean Station; grandchildren, who were the light of her life, Morgan (Joe) Tackett-Crowe, Alexis McDonald, Faith York, Abigail Jones, Zayna McCloud, Mallori York and Judah York; and great-grandsons, Joey Crowe and Johnny Crowe. She will be missed by a host of nieces and nephews whom she cared for very much. Funeral services were held at the Bean Station Church of God Monday, October 23. A funeral service will be held at Victory Christian Center in Lenore, West Virginia Wednesday, October 25 from noon until 3 p.m., followed by services at 3 p.m., with Rev. Ed York and Bishop Jerry Walden presiding over the services. She will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Gardens in Logan, West Virginia. Arrangements by Smith Reagan Funeral Home.
