BEAN STATION – Monique’s Flower Barn in Bean Station opened Thursday, September 7. Monique Murphy had worked for Ms. Phyllis at All Occasions in Morristown for many years before she said she was “called on by the Lord,” to open her own shop. “I prayed on it and asked Him and then people came into my life that blessed me each week, and I knew this was Him making it happen,” said Monique. The shop offers decorative wooden crosses, wooden initials and quilts. There are also paintings done by local artists on consignment available for purchase.

She is currently working on the Veterans Day flag that the town of Bean Station plans to display. She said, “I want to do something a little different.” Monique’s delivers free of charge to Bean Station and applies a small delivery fee outside of town limits. The store is located at 524 Highway 25E. The hours are Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m., and Saturdays, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. For more information, please call (865) 935-0555.
