WASHBURN – Washburn School will host a Veterans Day program Friday Nov. 10, with breakfast and a program honoring veterans’ service to America.

History and social studies teacher Justin Acuff said veterans in the area are invited to attend. Breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m. in the old high school gym. The program will move to the new gym at 9:30 a.m.

The program will begin with veterans being welcomed, followed by the presentation of colors, pledge of allegiance and the singing of the National Anthem.

Seventh and eighth grade students will give speeches thanking the veterans for their service. There will also be a continuous slide show behind the podium with photos and artifacts of veterans who have been students at the school.

Students from kindergarten though eighth grade will also display their art projects in the school.
