The Grainger County Historic Society would like to thank the people of Grainger County for making the second annual Haints and History Night a great success. The walks, which began every 15 minutes between 6 and 9 p.m. at the Olde Jail in Rutledge, were well attended. The groups were so large that they often exceeded the number of chairs available. The society members enjoyed this activity, and hope that the nearly 150 attendees took away some ghost stories, as well as a pinch of Grainger County’s rich history. The proceeds from the Haints and History Night will be used to purchase Tennessee history publications for Grainger County students. The society members will be looking for you at next year’s Haints and History Night.
