Eastern Star honors first responders

BEAN STATION – Tate Spring chapter #425 Order of the Eastern Star, celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday by delivering cookies to the Grainger County Sheriff’s Department, Bean Station Police Department and the Bean Station Volunteer Fire Department. Beverly Rogers, Worthy Grand Matron of the Grand Chapter of Tennessee, has asked chapters across the state to participate in her American Pride project for 2017. She asked each chapter to choose a special way to recognize first responders in their section of the state. Tate Spring chose to deliver sweets to those who would be serving the community during the holiday.

Eastern Star members participate in many ways to assist those who need their help. During 2017, Tate Spring completed several service projects including delivering socks to veterans at Ridgeview nursing home, water to the Bean Station Fire Department, caps for cancer patients and school supplies to Bean Station Elementary School.
