How does someone thank an entire community as well as surrounding areas? Thank you just seems to be inadequate. I was recently the recipient of a benefit held in Thorn Hill that raised money to cover expenses associated with my cancer treatment and loss of income due to my inability to work. People of all different ages, incomes and backgrounds came together to support me. Some of those who attended the benefit and made donations, brought food, entertained, auctioneered or provided other services did not know me.
A lot of work went into the benefit, and it was apparent by the donations and turnout. I cannot begin to thank everyone enough for the enormous amount of time spent organizing the benefit or for providing donations to the auction, along with the potluck dinner. It was nice to see so many people in attendance.
I sincerely appreciate everyone who went out of their way to make the benefit a success. It’s what makes the South such a great place to live. People helping people should be part of everyday life. Thank you and God bless!
