GLORIA SPARKS JACKSON, 68, Strawberry Plains, entered into Jesus’ loving arms in the early morning of November 24. She was born February 2, 1949. She had to fight to enter into this world, and she fought her illness up to her last days. One of her proudest accomplishments was working with her husband, Stanley, on the Mountain Music Kid’s Bass Fishing Tournament for 27 years where she was the assistant director. It has been recognized as being the largest tournament for kids in the Southeast. She was welcomed into heaven by her parents, Charles and Lucille Sparks; sister, Charlene Lindsey; nephew, John Lindsey; and special brother-in-law, Bob Kent. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Stanley Jackson; daughters, Carla Jackson, Susan Jackson Lowe and Alisa Canupp; son, Joseph Jackson; grandchildren, Baylum Lowe, Casey Canupp, Brady Lowe and Blayne Lowe, all which she treasured dearly, and Missy LeQuire, who she thought of as a daughter; sister-in-law, Rose Mary Kent; special cousins, Carol Kirby and Marlene Luttrell, whom she considered her sisters; brother-in-law, Sam Lindsey Sr.; special friends, Charlotte Greenlee and Susan Morton; favorite dogs, Smoke and Doodle, which never left her side; several nieces and nephews; a host of loving cousins; and an abundance of amazing friends. Her final words to all of us were that she is in peace; do not mourn over me. Bridges Funeral Home (865) 523-4999
