William “Allen” Roach, Corryton, was born December 25, 1926 and passed from this life into the presence of almighty God Thursday, November 30. There to greet him was his beloved wife of 62 years, Mary Williams Roach; parents, Daniel and Naomi Roach; and 10 brothers and sisters. “Papaw” was a beloved father, grandfather and friend. He served proudly during WWII as a medic in the Army Air Corp. He was a skilled craftsman who spent most of his later years making unique birdhouses that can be found all over the country. He is survived by his sons, Allen (Jody) Roach, Darrell (Trisha) Roach; grandchildren, Heather and Jonathan Roach, Steven Gilbert, Jason Roach, Misty Moore and “adopted” grandson, Jerrod Smith; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Derek, Justus, Lexi, Austin, Anthony, Hannah, Emily, Haley, Katey and Gunner; great-great-granddaughters, Lilly and Raelynn; sister, Barbara Malone; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday, December 2 at Bridges Funeral Home, with Rev. Mark Large officiating. Family and friends met Sunday, December 3 at Clear Springs Cemetery for an interment.
