RUTLEDGE – Faculty and staff will report at the end of July to begin
in-service training for the 2018-19 school year, according to the calendar adopted by the Grainger County Board of Education at its Dec. 5 meeting.
The early schedule will be slightly different from previous years, with
in-service continuing from July 30 until Aug. 3. The first day for students will be a half-day Aug. 6. The first full day will be Aug. 7.
The adjustment was necessary because of Election Day Aug. 2. Some schools will be used for polling places.
The week of October 8-12 will be fall break. Thanksgiving holidays will be Nov. 21-23. Christmas break will begin Dec. 24 and continue until Jan. 7. Spring break will be April 18-25.
The last day of school will be May 24.
