RUTLEDGE – The Grainger County Baptist Association held its inaugural Christmas Festival Saturday, December 9. Many church congregations gathered together to sponsor a day of holiday fun for the children and families of Grainger County. Santa made this one of his many stops in the county for the day. He said that he was very happy to be in Grainger County because there are a lot of children on his nice list here. Even though Santa was the biggest star of the show, many of the children also enjoyed the bounce houses and getting their faces and nails painted. Each church had a booth where children could get a snack. Cookies, cotton candy or popcorn were offered. The kids even got a chance to decorate their own cookies. Sandwiches and hotdogs were served as well. Plenty of games and crafts for children to enjoy were also available.
