Jemes L. Sellers, 91, Knoxville, passed away at Parkwest Hospital Monday, December 4. He was born May 2, 1926 in Lawrence County, Alabama. He was a naval veteran of World War II, Pacific Theater, and retired from ORNL after 39 years of service. He was a longtime member of Trinity Community Church. In retirement, he enjoyed fishing, traveling and spending time with friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, 11 brothers and sisters; first wife, Dorothy Barkley Sellers; son, Tommy; and grandson, Jonathan Price. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Ruth Sellers; children, John (Billie) Sellers of Ormond Beach, Florida, Frances (Sonny) Hart, Cathy Ensley, and Charles (Christine) Price, all of Knoxville; brother, Robert (Bonnie) Sellers of Decatur, Alabama; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday, December 7 at Bridges Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Community Church, 6706 Central Avenue Pike, Knoxville, TN 37912.
