WASHBURN – Training for bus drivers is in progress this week that is required for them to maintain their bus driver endorsement.

The sessions began Monday at Washburn School. They continued Tuesday and will be completed today at Grainger High School said Director of Schools Edwin Jarnagin.

He said the training is being conducted by Vernon Thomas, east division trainer from the Department of Safety and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division.

“Grainger County and the East Tennessee region are very fortunate to have Mr. Thomas. He is very efficient and professional when he conducts training and when he conducts inspections,” said Jarnagin, who attended the training at Washburn.
