Walters State Community College offering noncredit courses in January


MORRISTOWN – Walters State Community College will offer “A Supervisor’s Toolkit” and other noncredit courses during January.

At Walters State’s Morristown campus the following classes will be offered:

• A Supervisor’s Toolkit meets from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m Wed., Jan. 3, 10 and 17. This course provides the foundation for influencing employees, fine tunes those insights to acknowledge differences while concentrating on issues of special relevance.

The course also teaches communication skills to provide positive and constructive feedback, and provides supervisors with keys to diagnosing performance problems, employee coaching and building a team. Finally, the course includes information about dealing with life challenges and addressing harassment and violence. The cost is $349.

•Microsoft Excel 2013 – Level 1 meets Jan. 11 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Learn how to be creative, save and print documents, explore formatting tips, create formulas and discover the new features of Microsoft Excel. The cost is $150.

At the Greeneville/Greene
County campus the following
classes will be offered:

• Microsoft Excel 2013 – Level 1 meets Jan. 9 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Learn how to be creative, save and print documents, explore formatting tips, create formulas and discover the new features of Microsoft Excel. The cost is $150.

At the Greeneville Manufacturing and Welding site the following classes will be offered:

• General Welding, Stick, MIG and TIG, meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, Jan. 16 through Feb. 15. This provides a rapidly paced overview of the three welding processes, including four hours of introductory training in each process. The cost is $574.

At the Sevier County campus the following classes will be offered:

•Microsoft Excel 2013 – Level 1 meets Jan. 17 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Learn how to be creative, save and print documents, explore formatting tips, create formulas and discover the new features of Microsoft Excel. The cost is $150.
