WASHBURN – Members of the Washburn School community and local churches joined forces for an Angel Tree to make Christmas merrier for about 100 students from pre-K through high school this year.
Sabra Johnson, a third grade teacher, said the gifts were distributed as students boarded the buses to go home for the holidays.
“We asked the students to list clothing and shoe sizes and also asked them for three wishes,” Johnson said.
She said teachers, staff members, substitute teachers, assistant principals and some parents and students became anonymous donors.
She said the school had done the Angel Tree in past years, but this year had the greatest participation ever.
