Ray and Betty Howerton of Bean Station will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married July 10, 1970 at Mountain Valley Baptist Church in Greene County by the late Rev. Kenneth Minor of Rogersville.
Ray is the son of the late General and Zelma (McCoy) Howerton of Bean Station. He is retired from UPS. Betty is the daughter of the late Arthur and Aileen (Dyer) Owens of Russellville. She is retired from Grainger County School System. They are members of Adriel Baptist Church and enjoy spending time with family and camping. They are proud parents of two sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Scott and Alisa Howerton of Bean Station and Chris and Kristin Howerton of Morristown; special grandchildren, Taylor and wife, Jasmine, Jordan, Drew, Ali and Owen Howerton; deceased daughter-in-law, Kinsey Roberts Howerton and grandson, Asher Christopher Howerton.
