Norma Manly Ruptier
Norma Manly Ruptier, of Rutledge, Tennessee passed away December 24, 2020 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
She is survived by her husband, George Ruptier. Norma was the daughter of deceased parents, Roy and Edith Manly, also of Rutledge.
Norma leaves a brother, Don Manly and wife, Betty Ann of Bradenton, Florida; a sister, Ina Manly Painter and husband, Harrison of Knoxville, Tennessee; and many nieces and nephews.
Norma graduated from Carson-Newman College with a Bachelor's degree and received a Master's degree from Memphis University College of Nursing in Memphis, Tennessee. She worked many years in nursing. Norma's vivacious and adventurous spirit led her to travel around the world, including Spain, Portugal, Egypt and Costa Rica. One of her passions was shape-note singing, which has centuries-old roots in Europe. Norma sang in the New Mexico A Cappella Harp Singers group, having learned shape-note singing from her Father, as a child in Tennessee. Norma lived her life embracing her passions and enjoying the beauties of the natural world.
