WASHBURN – Wallace Boutique is focusing on serving the Washburn area.
The boutique is owned by Grainger County resident Kendra Wallace, who opened the business in May 2020.
Wallace said she began the business because her husband opened an ATV shop. She was formerly a mail route driver. She said she drove the mail route until she flipped her Jeep while working and moved to a job she hated.
When her husband opened the ATV shop, she said, “If I’m going to sit with it (the shop), I’m going to put some clothes in here because there’s nothing around Washburn that has anything like this.”
Wallace said she opened the boutique for the Washburn community. She said she enjoys helping her community from gifting items for fundraisers or giving back to the community in other ways, such as finding or making gifts for those who want something unique for their loved ones.
Wallace said her current goal is to relocate her business to a larger building on Hwy. 131 on her father’s property.
Wallace Boutique sells quality clothing for $25 or less. Purses, jewelry, hats, watches, beanies, makeup bags, home décor sets and gift sets, including Rae Dunn sets, are also available in the store. Most gift sets are $20 or less. Purses have a varied price range, depending on the brand, but Wallace said most purses are priced at $25 or less. In addition to women’s clothing, Wallace said clothing options for men are available in her husband’s portion of the shop. Wallace Boutique accepts cash and credit cards.
Wallace expressed her thanks to all who have supported her business. She said even if someone has walked through the door without making a purchase, they have helped her.
