RUTLEDGE – Babe’s Florist celebrated its opening day in Rutledge with a grand opening Saturday, October 2.
Owner Karen Cullom said the move from Babe’s Florist’s Washburn location was necessary as business had grown. However, she said she was not abandoning her Washburn customers. Cullom said she will continue to make deliveries to residents in Washburn.
Guests who visited the shop during the event were served refreshments and had the opportunity to win three door prizes.
Babe’s Florist is named after Cullom’s father Robert “Babe” Southerland. Cullom chose to hold the grand opening Saturday, October 2 in honor of her late father’s birthday.
Cullom said she wanted to let people know the business offers more than flowers. Customers of Babe’s Florist can purchase a variety of items, including floral arrangements and items for funerals, birthdays, holidays, wreaths, lanterns, home arrangements and decor, cemetery flowers and throws, among other items. One item, which has been successful since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, is a gift basket, which can hold anything from a blanket and gift mug to fruit.
Cullom has been designing floral arrangements for about 25 years. She runs Babe’s Florist with help from her family members, Easton Bailey and Laken Bailey.
Cullom said she will be happy to help anyone who needs assistance picking out a gift for a loved one. She said she is happy to be at her new location in Rutledge.
