BSVFD to hold tractor pull

BEAN STATION – The Bean Station Volunteer Fire Department (BSVFD) will hold a truck and tractor pull at Marvin Rich Ball Field Saturday, May 8 starting at 2 p.m.

Weigh-in will begin at 2 p.m. and the truck and tractor pull will begin at 4 p.m. The cost of admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids ages 12 and under.

All trucks, open gear, V8 tractors  and antique 4 mph will pay a $20 hook fee, with a 50 percent payback. Concessions will be available.

The BSVFD is a volunteer organization that receives no government funding other than two small annual payments, which covers about seven to 10 percent of its expenses. The department must raise 90 to 93 percent of its operating costs through fundraising efforts. Proceeds from the truck and tractor pull go to meet expenses incurred by the department.
