RUTLEDGE – Christmas parades in Grainger County are scheduled to take place as planned, with the exception of the Rutledge parade. 

Washburn will hold its annual Christmas parade Saturday, December 5 at 2 p.m. Line up for the parade will begin at 1 p.m.

Bean Station will hold its annual Christmas parade Saturday, December 5 at 6 p.m. The theme for the parade is “Bean Station’s First Responder Heroes,” and parade Grand Marshalls will be Bean Station Chief of Police John McMurray, Bean Station Volunteer Fire Department Chief Cody Orrick and Bean Station Rescue Squad Chief Brad O’Quinn. Blaine will hold its Christmas parade Saturday, December 12 at

1 p.m. Line up for the parade will begin at 12:30 p.m.

The city of Rutledge announced its decision to cancel its parade due to rising COVID-19 cases in Grainger County Tuesday, December 1. 

The scheduled parades will occur rain or shine. 

Residents are asked to observe county and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommended social distancing guidelines.
