RUTLEDGE – Grainger High School is in a virtual instruction format all this week because they are not able to serve meals at the school.
Director of Schools Dr. James Atkins said the entire food service staff is in quarantine due to COVID-19 exposure.
He said families who normally pick up meals at Grainger High School for students Wednesdays can call the school to get their meals.
Atkins said he is also looking for more substitute teachers, educational assistants, custodians and cafeteria staff for the entire system to fill in when full-time employees are quarantined or ill.
“Many people who would normally substitute are not doing it this year because of the virus,” he said.
Applications may be picked up at the Central Office or online at the district’s official website. Daily pay rates are $65 for non-certified personnel and $95 for certified.
The hourly rate for custodians and cafeteria staff is $8.25.
