No new COVID-19 cases reported in schools
RUTLEDGE – All students attending Grainger County schools on campus are being provided free breakfasts and lunches, beginning this week.
Director of Schools Dr. James Atkins said the meals will be provided through a USDA federal program.
He said they will continue through the end of the semester in December or until further notice.
Classes resumed Tuesday with students in attendance four days a week. Campuses will be closed Wednesdays and all students will take part in virtual online instruction. Atkins said the new schedule will be maintained through the first nine weeks of the term, dating back to the opening of school August 10.
Atkins also said no new positive cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the past three weeks.
