RUTLEDGE – A Russellville man died in a fatal vehicle crash that occurred in Rutledge Sunday, November 8. 

A preliminary report filed by the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) reported a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling northbound on Owl Hole Gap Rd. when it attempted to turn left onto New Corinth Rd. and pulled into the path of a 2010 Yamaha YZF-R1 motorcycle driven by 51-year-old Randy Voiles. The report states both vehicles came to an uncontrolled rest in the roadway. 

The driver of the Silverado, Ermelinda Roman Torres, 37, Rutledge, and her two children, ages 13 and three, were not injured in the crash. An alcohol and drug test have reportedly been administered.

Criminal charges are pending against Roman Torres. The accident remains under investigation by THP.
