Parking lot nap results in drug arrest

BLAINE – A Blaine woman is facing multiple drug charges after officers responded to a call of a woman having passed out in her car at Food City in Blaine Thursday, February 25.

According to reports, Grainger County Sheriff’s Department Corporal Chad Seal found Misty Michelle Greene, 29, slumped over in her car with the engine running. When he knocked on the window and asked if she was OK, Greene reportedly answered with slurred speech.

Seal reported Greene’s eyes appeared glossy and her pupils were constricted. He asked her to turn off the engine and exit the vehicle. He administered a standardized field sobriety test and reported in his opinion, she had performed poorly.

Greene reportedly told Seal she had used heroin and Xanax early in the day. Greene reportedly gave verbal consent to search her vehicle, and Seal reported recovering a small plastic baggie containing 10 Xanax pills and a baggie containing a green leafy substance that appeared to be marijuana. He also reported the recovery of two bags of small plastic baggies often used to package narcotics for sale. Cash, in the amount of $1,889, was also reportedly recovered.

Greene reportedly agreed to undergo a blood test, but medics were reportedly unable to get blood due to her IV drug use.

Seal asked permission to search Greene’s phone, but she reportedly refused because “she might have some personal drug deals on the phone.”

Greene was charged with DUI, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance for resale and simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance.
