Virginia May Key Vineyard
Virginia May Key Vineyard, 92, of Blaine, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at Jefferson City Health and Rehabilitation. Virginia was born February 9, 1930 in Knoxville. Her family later moved to Sweetwater where she graduated high school. Virginia worked for several years at Standard Knitting Mill in Knoxville before becoming a full-time farmer’s wife and mother. She enjoyed gardening, singing, yodeling and playing piano. She was known for her quick wit. She was a member of Lea Springs Baptist Church in Blaine.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Harrison Key and Bessie Key Norris; husband Mark Franklin Vineyard; sisters, Ruth Nelson, Irene Derrick and Laverne Byrd; and brothers, Henry Key and Thomas Key.
She is survived by her son, Harrison (Vickie) Vineyard of Blaine; daughter, Rachel (Ted) Miracle of Blaine; grandson, Nathan Miracle (Andrea Smith) of Charlotte, NC; granddaughter, Sarah (Nathaniel) Meyer; grandsons, Jonathan and David Meyer of Plano, TX; sisters-in-law, Claudine Clevenger and Elaine Gentry of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews; and special caregiver and friend Lena Chamberlain of Blaine.
Services were held at Smith-Reagan Funeral Home in Rutledge Friday, January 27, 2023. The family received friends from 5 until 7 p.m. January 27 with funeral services immediately afterwards. Rev. Gary Satterfield officiated. She was laid to rest alongside her husband Mark at Lea Springs Cemetery January 28 at 11 a.m.
