RUTLEDGE – The Seymour High School Eagles flew in Friday, October 15 to take on the Grainger High School Grizzlies. Seven turnovers haunted the Grizzlies in the game against the Eagles and those miscues allowed Seymour to post a 35-14 victory.

KODAK – The Grainger High School Grizzly football team evened its record to 4-4 with a 26-14 non-conference win at Northview Academy Friday, October 8.

RUTLEDGE – The Rutledge Middle School junior varsity Lady Pioneers hosted White Pine Middle School Friday, October 1 in the first round of the JV tournament. The JV began the tournament ranked as the two seed due to a strong regular season in which the Lady Pioneers lost only two conference games.

ROGERSVILLE – Post-season play began for the Grainger High School Lady Grizzlies volleyball team and head coach Jessica Maxey’s club made the most of the opportunity. Grainger qualified for the regional by advancing all the way to the district final.

MORRISTOWN – Rutledge Middle School had its offense in high gear in games last week when they beat White Pine Middle School, 50-34, and then downed Lincoln Heights Middle School in a third place bowl game of the Middle Eight Conference, 40-12.

MORRISTOWN – The Rutledge Middle School Lady Pioneer volleyball team played West View Middle School Thursday, September 30 in the conference finals.

CHURCH HILL – The Grainger High School Grizzlies traveled to Volunteer High School Friday, October 1 to face the Falcons. While the Grizzlies are not out of the playoff picture just yet, the path to the football post-season got a lot harder. They dropped a 47-18 decision to the Falcons.

RUTLEDGE – After dropping a 34-12 game to Maury Middle School Tuesday, September 21, the Rutledge Middle School Pioneers bounced back in a big way. Luke Davis scored three touchdowns to lead his team to a 44-26 win over Meadowview Middle School Thursday, September 23.

RUTLEDGE – Union County High School was an easy opponent last season for the Grainger High School Grizzlies rolling to a 50-0 win. This year was a different story.

RUTLEDGE – For only the second time all season, the Grainger High School Grizzlies played a football game at home Friday, September 17. While they were glad to be back in the friendly surroundings of The Den, the opponent proved to be a daunting one.

BEAN STATION – The Grainger High School golf team kicked off an active schedule last week starting Monday, September 13 at Clinchview Golf Club in Bean Station against Cocke County.

RUTLEDGE – The Rutledge Middle School Lady Pioneer volleyball team faced their final non-conference opponent Tuesday, September 14. The Lady Pioneers defeated the Horace Maynard Middle School Lady Devils in straight sets.
