RUTLEDGE – There is an old adage in sports that “offense sells tickets but defense wins games.” The Grainger High School Grizzlies put that into practice in the first round of the regional tournament, especially the latter part of that saying. 

WASHBURN – The Washburn High School Lady Pirates fell short of their goal of winning a Region 1A tournament game, but head coach Daniel Bishop said he was proud of the team’s effort and the progress it made during the just-completed season.
