Pirate coach Amanda Kincaid said she was proud of the way the team fought back after trailing at halftime in the title game.
“We told the boys it was far from over. We tightened up our defense and made a few adjustments. They fought it to the end,” Kincaid said.
“They’re a great bunch of kids. They deserved it. Obviously, this season was a little different and I’m glad the kids got to play. They need some normalcy. The entire season, they showed so much determination and grit and the county tournament was no different,” Kincaid added.
